Mit ROUGH AND ROWDY WAYS veröffentlicht Bob Dylan nach acht Jahren erstmals wieder ein Album mit neuen Songs. Im Vorfeld der Albumankündigung hatte Dylan bereits zwei Songs veröffentlicht: 'I Contain Multitudes' und das fast 17-minütige 'Murder Most Foul'. Die zehn Songs auf ROUGH AND ROWDY WAYS sind Dylans erste neue Eigenkompositionen seit dem 2012er Album TEMPEST.
